Of Winged Hussars and Cappuccinos

I don’t have Winged Hussars in any scale in my varied ranks of toy soldiers. I do like coffee.

Great snippet of military and social history out of my old press cuttings folders.

  1. Wouldn’t it be great if someone like AIP or Hat made them? Most likely the wings could be made separately to attach. The winged hussars look so fantastic that they would suit a fantasy army as well as a historical one.

    1. Winged Hussars – They would be the perfect coffee premium giveaway figure!

Almost, as you say, pure fantasy or fantastic.

The desert warriors I am converting at present from pound store figures owe a small something not just to Donald Featherstone but also to your cheerful conversion approach to figures with PVA and tissue paper etc. I’m still enjoying reading your blog.

Thanks for the recommendations to Plastic Soldier Review Zvesda and Orion figures – and the history write up with the review. What a shame there are no 54mm plastic ones, only as far as I can see expensive metal model versions. They must have looked magnificent and terrifying in full charge (hopefully not flight!)
